Happy Birthday Eric!

Today is my nephew Eric's birthday. I won't be able to see him this weekend but I hope he has a good one. In a few weeks he'll be living real close since they're moving to the same city I live in. Exciting!

Happy Birthday Eric from Uncle Gary and Aunt Andrea.

Boston 2010 here I come!

I ran the Fredericton Marathon yesterday and I managed to get my target time of 3:15 and qualify for the Boston marathon!! I'm pretty excited about going next year.

I'm just glad that all this training was not wasted. The weather was a bit chilly, and we got rained on a couple of times, but the course has to be one of the best we have around here. I was feeling great till the last 4 kilometres and it was a mental battle after that. I wasn't sore anywhere in general, more of a fatigue thing where you're body is running low on energy.

I'm feeling quite sore today and limping around the house for the next few days is expected.

Andrea did a great job as my 'support' crew handing out bananas and watermelon.

Dean ran and got another PB of 3:05, and Steve ran his 1st marathon and qualified for Boston as well with a time of 3:27. Steve's older, so he's lucky enough that he doesn't need the same time as Dean or I do. He needed to be under 3:30, while Dean I needed to be under 3:15.

I managed to come in 12th out of almost 200 marathoners and 2nd for my age group. Of course Dean was 1st for our age group the bugger. Always 2nd to Dean... :-)

Off to Bangor for the weekend for some ultimate

I'm off for my 1st road trip to an ultimate tournament this weekend. We're playing indoors, but it's a full sized field gym. Should be interesting playing indoors in a gym the size of a soccer field.

I also need to get 20km in for my training. That's going to be hard since these guys like to drink...

New home of garyogden.com

So I've decided to use blogger as my new home for garyogden.com.

I did have it hosted by a friend, and then I was hosting it myself, but it's a bit slow over DSL.

So here's hoping this works out.
